How to cancel YouTube Premium

Google’s help: manage YouTube Premium under Google Account → Payments & subscriptions, or from the YouTube Premium membership / Paid memberships screens while signed into the Google Account that pays. Choose Cancel membership (or Cancel subscription) and confirm. Save the confirmation. On a Family plan, only the family manager cancels. If Apple bills YouTube Premium, cancel in iPhone/iPad Settings → Subscriptions—not only inside YouTube. YouTube TV is a different product with its own cancel path; cancelling Premium does not cancel YouTube TV and the reverse is also true.

Difficulty: Online. Policies change. This is the path that usually works, not a substitute for your contract or the merchant’s current account screens.

01Sign in with the Google Account that pays for Premium.
02Open Google Account → Payments & subscriptions → manage subscriptions / YouTube Premium, or open YouTube → your avatar → Purchases and memberships / Premium membership.
03Select Cancel membership (or Cancel subscription) and finish confirmation. Save the email or screenshot.
04Family plan: the family manager must cancel.
05Apple-billed: Settings → your name → Subscriptions → YouTube Premium → Cancel Subscription.
06If you also have YouTube TV, open that membership separately and cancel there if needed.

Fees and traps

Access usually continues until the end of the current Premium period. Check the confirmation screen for the end date.
YouTube TV billing and cancel are separate from YouTube Premium.
Student and other offer plans still cancel from the same membership controls once the offer ends or you choose to leave.
Wrong Google Account: Premium will not appear. Check which account is signed in on YouTube.

Does cancelling Premium cancel YouTube TV?

No. They are separate subscriptions.
