How to cancel Max (HBO)

Max (formerly HBO Max) help: if Max bills you directly, sign in at max.com, open Account → Subscription, then Cancel and confirm. Save the confirmation. Many people get Max through AT&T, Amazon Channels, Apple, a cable or satellite package, or a Disney/Hulu bundle—those must be cancelled with the partner or at the biller you signed up with. Max cannot stop a partner charge. Bundle with Disney/Hulu: manage and cancel at the same place you subscribed. Deleting the Max app does not cancel.

Difficulty: Online — Max or the partner that bills you. Policies change. This is the path that usually works, not a substitute for your contract or the merchant’s current account screens.

Fees and traps

  • Partner-billed Max will not show a working cancel on max.com—follow the partner path.
  • Access usually continues until the end of the paid period. Check the confirmation screen for the last billing date.
  • Old HBO Max branding may still appear on statements; look for Max / WBD / HBO naming variants.
  • Pause or hold (where offered) is not cancel.
