How to cancel ExpressVPN

ExpressVPN’s help path: if ExpressVPN bills you, sign in on the ExpressVPN website account area, open Subscription / Billing (or Manage subscription), cancel or turn off auto-renew, and confirm. Save the confirmation. If Apple or Google Play is the merchant on your statement, cancel ExpressVPN in that store’s subscriptions list—ExpressVPN cannot stop those charges. Prepaid or gift periods may not auto-renew; recurring card plans need an explicit cancel. Uninstalling the apps does not cancel.

Difficulty: Online — account portal or store billing. Policies change. This is the path that usually works, not a substitute for your contract or the merchant’s current account screens.

Clearcut doesn't cancel subscriptions for you. These are the steps you take with ExpressVPN yourself.

What does not work

  • Uninstalling the ExpressVPN app
  • Signing out
  • Cancelling on the ExpressVPN site when Apple or Google is the merchant on your statement

Online

  1. 01Check the statement merchant: ExpressVPN vs Apple vs Google.
  2. 02ExpressVPN-billed: sign in on expressvpn.com account → Subscription / Billing → Cancel or disable auto-renew. Confirm and save the confirmation.
  3. 03Apple billed: Settings → your name → Subscriptions → ExpressVPN → Cancel Subscription.
  4. 04Google Play billed: Play Store → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → ExpressVPN → Cancel.

Fees and traps

  • Account portal cancel and store billing are different—match the merchant on your statement.
  • Access usually continues until the end of the paid period after cancel.
  • Refund windows, if any, are whatever ExpressVPN or the store shows at purchase/cancel time—do not invent fees or guarantees.
  • Wrong email login can hide the active subscription—use the account on the receipt.
