How to cancel Dropbox

Dropbox help: if Dropbox bills you, sign in on the web, open your account plan / billing settings (Plan), and choose Cancel plan. Confirm through the screens and save the confirmation. You typically drop to Dropbox Basic (free) when the paid period ends. If Apple or Google Play bills you, cancel in that store—Dropbox cannot stop those charges. Deleting the app does not cancel. Watch storage: if you are over the free quota after cancel, sync and new uploads can break until you free space or renew.

Difficulty: Online. Policies change. This is the path that usually works, not a substitute for your contract or the merchant’s current account screens.

What does not work

  • Deleting the Dropbox app
  • Unlinking devices alone
  • Cancelling on dropbox.com when Apple or Google is the merchant on your statement

Online

  1. 01Check whether Dropbox, Apple, or Google appears on the statement.
  2. 02Dropbox-billed: dropbox.com → account → Plan (or plan / billing settings) → Cancel plan. Finish confirmation and save it.
  3. 03App Store billed: Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Dropbox → Cancel Subscription.
  4. 04Google Play billed: Play Store → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → Dropbox → Cancel.
  5. 05Before the paid period ends, remove or move files so you fit the Basic free storage limit.

Fees and traps

  • Storage overage: over the free limit after cancel, Dropbox may stop syncing or restrict uploads. Clear space first.
  • Shared folders and team/business accounts follow admin rules—personal cancel does not remove a team admin’s billing.
  • Access to paid features continues until the end of the period already paid. Check the confirmation screen for the date.

FAQ

Do I lose my files when I cancel?

Files stay, but you must fit free Basic storage. Delete or move extras before the paid quota ends.

I subscribed in the App Store. Where do I cancel?

Apple Subscriptions (or Google Play), not only the Dropbox site.

Is Basic still usable?

Yes. Cancel drops you to free Basic when paid time ends, with the free storage cap.

After you cancel this one

Dropbox is one charge. The quiet ones are still on the card.

Clearcut cannot cancel every merchant for you. We can put this cancel on a tracker, and after you connect a bank, surface the other recurring charges so you are not doing this ten more times. 7-day trial. Cancel during the trial is included.
