How to cancel Apple subscriptions

Apple’s support article (published August 21, 2026): cancel subscriptions from Apple and subscriptions you bought in App Store apps from the same Subscriptions list. On iPhone or iPad: Settings → your name → Subscriptions → the subscription → Cancel Subscription (scroll; if you only see red expiry text, it is already cancelled). On Mac: App Store → your name → Account Settings → Subscriptions. On the web: account.apple.com. Family Sharing: only the purchaser’s Apple Account can cancel. Carrier-billed Apple Music or similar is cancelled with the carrier, not in this list. Deleting an app does not cancel.

Difficulty: Online, on the Apple Account that was charged. Policies change. This is the path that usually works, not a substitute for your contract or the merchant’s current account screens.

What does not work

  • Deleting the app
  • Signing out of iCloud
  • Cancelling on a family member’s phone when their Apple Account is not the one on the receipt
  • Asking Netflix, Spotify, or another developer to stop an App Store charge (Apple bills those)

Online

  1. 01Find the receipt (“receipt from Apple” / “invoice from Apple”). Note which Apple Account paid.
  2. 02iPhone or iPad: Settings → your name (Apple Account) → Subscriptions → tap the subscription → Cancel Subscription. Confirm.
  3. 03Mac: App Store → your name → Account Settings → Subscriptions → the subscription → Cancel Subscription.
  4. 04No Apple device: go to account.apple.com, sign in, and follow the subscription management screens.
  5. 05Windows: Apple Music or Apple TV app → your name → View My Account → Settings → Subscriptions → Manage. Older iTunes for Windows: Account → View My Account → Subscriptions → Manage.
  6. 06If the subscription is not listed, you were probably billed by the company directly, Google Play, or a carrier. Cancel with whoever appears on the bank line.
  7. 07For a free or discounted trial, Apple says cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends if you do not want it to renew.

Fees and traps

  • Access usually continues until the end of the current billing period. You are not typically refunded unused days automatically; refund requests go through reportaproblem.apple.com and are not guaranteed.
  • Subscriptions bought with a different Apple Account (old email, Family organizer) will not show on the account you are looking at.
  • Germany, Israel, South Africa, and Türkiye have extra local cancel rules per Apple. If you are in those countries, read the same Apple article for the local path.
  • AppleCare monthly plans may need the plan linked to the Apple Account before they appear.

FAQ

Does this cancel Netflix if I pay Apple?

Yes, if Apple is the merchant. Netflix cannot stop an App Store charge. If Netflix charges your card directly, cancel inside Netflix instead.

I do not see the subscription.

Wrong Apple Account, already cancelled, or not billed by Apple. Search email for Apple receipts and check the bank merchant name.

Can I cancel from Android?

If Google Play bills Apple Music or Apple TV, cancel in Google Play. If Apple bills you, use account.apple.com.
