How to cancel Amazon Prime

If Amazon bills you, cancel on the Prime membership page. Amazon’s 2026 instructions: on desktop, Accounts & Lists → Prime Membership → Manage Membership → End Membership, then finish the screens. In the shopping app: Profile → Manage Prime Membership → End Membership. You can also open amazon.com/mc. Walk past pause, reminder, and plan-switch offers until you confirm cancel. If you signed up through a third party, Amazon’s terms say you may need that party to cancel. Cancelling Prime does not cancel Audible, Kindle Unlimited, or other Amazon subscriptions.

Difficulty: Online. Policies change. This is the path that usually works, not a substitute for your contract or the merchant’s current account screens.

01On a computer: amazon.com → hover Accounts & Lists → Prime Membership. Under Manage Membership, choose End Membership (labels rotate among “Update, cancel and more” / “End Membership”).

04Decline Pause, Switch plan, and Remind me if you want a real cancel. Confirm the date shown (benefits typically run through the end of the paid period).
05Reload the Prime page. You want a banner that the membership will end on a date and will not renew.
06If you signed up through Google Play, a partner, or another third party, cancel with that provider. Amazon’s Prime terms (updated August 14, 2026) say third-party signups follow that party’s cancel and refund rules.

Fees and traps

Amazon’s Prime terms: cancel any time before the renewal date to avoid the next charge. If you cancel within 3 business days of signing up or converting from a free trial to paid, they refund the membership fee but may deduct the value of Prime benefits you used in those 3 days. At any other time they refund the full membership fee only if you and your account did not make eligible purchases or use Prime benefits since the latest Prime charge. Used Prime Video, shipping, or other benefits can block that refund. Check the refund offer Amazon shows you.
A pause is not a cancel. If you paused, confirm later that it did not resume billing.
Prime Student, Prime Access, and monthly vs annual have the same End Membership door; refund math still follows the terms above.

FAQ

Can I keep watching Prime Video after I cancel?

Usually until the end of the period you already paid for, unless Amazon refunds that period and ends access sooner. The confirmation screen shows the end date.

Does cancelling Prime cancel Audible?

No. Cancel Audible separately.

I signed up in the Android app. Where do I cancel?

If Google Play billed you, use Google Play subscriptions. If Amazon billed your card, use Manage Prime on amazon.com or the shopping app.
